Honors Contract Requirements
In order to graduate with a major in Psychology and Honors in the Arts and Sciences, a student must have an Honors Contract signed by Dr. Alisa Paulsen or Dr. Lisa Cravens-Brown, Psychology Honors Advisors, and approved by the Arts and Sciences Honors Committee. Honors students declaring psychology as a major after SP13 follow the same content and credit hour requirements as non-Honors students. However, Psychology Honors students are strongly encouraged to take Psychology 1100H and are expected to select challenging psychology coursework, including Psychology Honors courses.
For the Psychology major, an Honors contract must include either of the following combinations of coursework:
Honors students are strongly encouraged to meet with their Psychology Honors Advisor by the end of their sophomore year to finalize their Honors Contract and thereafter at least once a year to discuss progress in the major and changes to the Contract. Students can schedule an appointment by calling the Psychology Advising Office at (614) 292-5750.
Once an Honors contract has been approved, students must have revisions preapproved by their Psychology Honors Advisor.
Honors students minoring in Psychology follow the same content requirements as non-Honors students. However, we strongly encourage Honors students minoring in Psychology to select challenging coursework in Psychology, including at least one upper-level Psychology Honors course (2000-level through 5000-level). Honors students are not permitted to count a course on their psychology minor and also on their major.
Honors students minoring in psychology must have their minor programs approved by a Psychology Honors Advisor (Dr. Alisa Paulsen or Dr. Lisa Cravens-Brown). Students can schedule an appointment by calling the Psychology Advising Office at (614) 292-5750.
