Thinking about going to graduate school? Do you know the difference between graduate programs in Psychology and related areas? What about the difference between a Ph.D., Psy.D., and M.A.? This workshop is designed to help navigate the graduate school preparation and application process, specifically focusing on the fields of psychology.

Which Programs will you be attending?

3:00 - 4:00 pm Overview: Applying to Graduate School
This workshop provides information about the fundamentals of the graduate school process such as different fields of graduate study, degree options, information on the GRE, and a proposed timeline. This is the workshop that the advising office holds 1-2 times each quarter. If you have not already attended this workshop, it is strongly advised that you attend this one to better prepare for the following programs.
4:00 - 5:00 pm Psychology Faculty Panel
OSU psychology faculty from the areas of clinical, counseling, developmental, social, quantitative, and behavioral neuroscience will answer your questions about what they look for in potential graduate students, their recommendations for the best ways to prepare yourself and increase your competitiveness, and what they expect from graduate students.
5:00 - 5:15 pm Dinner
We'll take a short break to fill up your plate and socialize with psychology faculty.
5:15 - 6:15 pm Psychology Graduate Student Panel
Current OSU psychology graduate students from the areas of clinical, developmental, social, and behavioral neuroscience will answer your questions about what it's REALLY like in graduate school, including their suggestions for preparing yourself and making yourself more competitive.
6:15 - 7:00 pm The Graduate Record Exam (GRE)
Dr. Mike Edwards will discuss the GRE and suggested preparation.
