Internship in PsychologyPrerequisites: Psych 100 plus 15 additional hours in psychology; Junior or Senior standing; At least a 2.8 GPA; Securing an internship at an approved site; Instructor permission (students must call 292-5750 to schedule a meeting with the instructor prior to the beginning of the quarter to have their internship site approved and be registered for the course).
Course Description and Objectives:
This course provides psychology students with an opportunity to work in a professional setting and begin to integrate their academic knowledge with experiences, expectations, values, and demands of the world outside the classroom. This class will meet every other week to discuss professional, psychological, ethical, and other issues relevant to the internship experience.
Course Assignments: Goals & Expectations paper; Journal; Research paper
Please note: This course is offered once/year, typically in Spring Quarter. If you wish to receive psychology credit for your internship experience, please plan accordingly, as you must be participating in the internship while you are enrolled in this course.
